Like many of you, I am a guest on these lands. I wish to honour and acknowledge that I have the privilege of creating and collaborating on the unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples, which includes the W̱SÁNEĆ, Lewkwungen, Songhees and Esquimalt Peoples, in a place now known as Victoria, BC. The land that I was born on and where I have created most of my past work is the land of the Ho-de-no-sau-nee-ga (Haudenosaunee), the Anishinabewaki ᐊᓂᔑᓈᐯᐗᑭ, the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, the Mississauga and the Wendake-Nionwentsïo. In a place now known as Toronto Ontario. It is important to know where we come from, and where we live. I make this acknowledgment as a small act of reconciliation, and I recognize and respect Indigenous Peoples as traditional stewards of this land.
